Bruce Arms Confirms Solo Around Australia Start Date

MEDIA RELEASE - 6th July 2011 

Sailing champion Bruce Arms has confirmed he will be departing for his Solo Around Australia World Record attempt from The Yacht Club, Mooloolaba Marina on Sunday July 10 at 12 noon.
Bruce said that after months and months of hard work and preparation he was ready to embark on his epic voyage.  He aims to create a world record by sailing solo around Australia in just 35 days in his 14m Catamaran Big Wave Rider.

Big Wave Rider finally got to race again on Saturday after a long break since the Multihull Rendezvous at Airlie Beach last year, where she got four line honours and one second place in her division.

Round North Island, NZ Race

 Due to withdrawals in the Round North Island Race leaving only two boats, the organisers have decided to postpone the race until next year. It was a big disappointment for the BWR race crew as we were all looking forward to the challenge of racing other Multihulls around the North Island of New Zealand and catching up with friends and family. The BWR race team will now look at an alternative race and will let you all know what that will be in the near future.
