Day 36 - Monday 15th August 2011

Well it’s been some great sailing up the NSW Coast, not too much to report, the breeze has been fairly steady from the south east most of the time making some nice reaching conditions. One thing that did happen with the wind was that we where sailing along in about 15 knots of wind when I saw a gust of 20 knots, then within 2 seconds it dropped to zero, as I  watched it was amazing, the boat was still doing 10 knots with the sails flapping , a bit hard to trim! Within about half an hour the wind started to come back to the south east, just one of the amazing things that can happen out here.

The temperature has started to warm up as I am heading north, making the sailing much more pleasant and I can shred some clothes, can’t wait to get back to LD! Also now that I am getting closer to the finish I am thinking of food a lot more, the food that I have been eating was really just fuel to get me around. I did not think too much about it, but now that the end is near, all sorts of different food that I like is entering my head. I would like to eat as soon as possible, pizza and chips are sounding good at the moment. Some more of my sponsors who without this trip would not be possible, Walcon Marine whom build fantastic wooden decked marinas and pontoons, and of course my good mate Murray from TrimWorx based at the Mooloolaba Marina for all your marine trimming needs.

PLEASE SAVE OUR SEAS AND BAN THE PLASTIC BAG.
